Location: Downtown Vancouver, BC
This project is a high-end renovation and interior design for a private sub-penthouse renovation in downtown Vancouver. The 1,750 s.f. condo originally featured two small bedrooms and a long, narrow corridor leading from the entry to the living area; a common layout in many corner high-rise units. Our design approach reimagined the flow and character of the space. The entry corridor was widened to create a defined foyer, while the kitchen was relocated to enhance openness and functionality. The two bedrooms were merged into one generous primary suite with an ensuite bathroom and spacious walk-in closets. A restrained palette of natural materials was selected to give the home a timeless minimalism: Italian white marble and golden teak line the surrounding surfaces, while four feet by four feet stone tiles form the flooring. Given the limitation of low ceiling heights, a series of vertical light elements were integrated to softly illuminate the interiors and enrich the atmosphere in the evening.
